Babies and young children

The Coliseum To comply with licensing andhealth and safety requirements, all audience members, including babies and children, must be in possession of a valid ticket.  There is no charge for this ticket for children under the age of 2.  Children under the age of 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult, who must accept full responsibility for the children in their care at all times.

There are baby-changing facilities at The Coliseum on the ground floor, accessed via the lift, or the rear entrance door.




Smoking is not permitted in any area of the building.  There is a smoking area outside.

Age Limits

In the auditoriums  - Any events with an age limit due to the nature of the content of the event will be publicised with the appropriate age limit or cinema classification. If you are unsure about any event and its age limit, please contact the venue.  Children under the age of 8 must NEVER be left at any of the venues unattended.

Hiring the venue

The Coliseum has a variety of unique spaces for a variety of events, from performances, to conferences, meetings to workshops.  The main areas are the 600 seat auditorium, the 80-100 seat lounge bar, which can accommodate a small stage, and a dance floor, and two meeting rooms.  Please contact the venue manager (click through to email Col manager) for further details or with your request.

Weddings The Coliseum is available for wedding parties at a very competitive rate.  Experienced and friendly staff will fully assist you in ensuring your big day runs smoothly.  Please call the venue of your choice for further details.

Recordings and cameras

Public cameras and recording equipment must not be used during any performance.

Mobile Phones

Please switch all mobile phones and pagers off during any performance.


Latecomers will be allowed into the auditorium or performance space at a suitable break in the performance, at the duty manager’s discretion.

Entry to the Venue

Entry in to the venue is at the staff’s discretion and we reserve the right to refuse entry.


Brochures are correct at time of going to print.  RCT Cultural Services reserve the right to alter any details without notice, due to any unforeseen circumstances.
